Streets and access
Churchill is reached on Monash Way from Morwell. The main streets are Switchback Road, Northways Road and Tramway Road, with the Town Centre shops the commercial hub. Federation University's Gippsland campus sits in Churchill, which means a lot of student rentals and a lot of turnover-related plumbing — TMVs, amenity repairs, and urgent calls at the start of each semester. Access is straightforward on Monash Way, then the local streets; we do not come in via the Traralgon CBD for a Churchill job.
Housing stock
Churchill's core is 1960s and 70s Housing Commission homes — brick veneer and some weatherboard, with PVC more common than the terracotta you find in Morwell. The newer estates on the edges add modern continuous-flow hot water and larger stormwater systems. The PVC sewers in the older stock are now old enough to crack and sag, and the root blockages, while less severe than terracotta, still happen at the joints.
Student rentals and urgent calls
The Federation University campus means a high share of rental homes, and the urgent calls are typical rental plumbing — a hot water unit that has failed, a toilet that will not stop running, a blocked drain, a gas heater that will not light at the start of winter. These sit under the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act as urgent repairs, and we attend, isolate, and give the tenant and the agent a clear written scope so the urgent-repair process is straightforward.

The Town Centre shops and the campus amenities are the commercial side — backflow prevention, TMV testing, grease traps at the food premises, and roof water across the campus buildings. A leak or a blockage across a campus building is a logistics job, and we coordinate around the teaching hours. We keep the compliance records current so the campus and the shops stay open and insured.
Stormwater off the Strzeleckis
Churchill sits at the foot of the Strzelecki Ranges, and the stormwater that comes off the hills after heavy rain is the town's recurring plumbing challenge. The pits and the lines have to carry that hill runoff, and where they silt or sag the water backs up. We clear and regrade the stormwater, add pits where the run is long, and manage the roof water so it does not add to the hill runoff.
